On Sep. 9, Apple Inc. made it a pretty big deal to let their customers know about their new releases begining with the start of a 24 hour countdown to the live keynote in Cuptino, California.
Besides the live keynote, there was a live feed of Twitter posts on Apple’s website to keep cutomers posted as well.
Wasting no time, CEO of Apple Tim Cook made a short introduction and immediately introduced the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The new phones will, indeed, have new operating systems, known as iOS 8; it features many updates that will not only be for the iPhone 6 Plus, but for older iPhones as well, down to the iPhone 4s.
During the introduction of the new Apple phones, Cook mentioned the phones are bigger.
“iPhone 6 has a continuous, seamless design,” stated by Apple on their website. “There are no distinct edges. The cover glass curves around the sides to meet the anodized aluminum enclosure.”
The size of the phones change in height, weight and also width. The iPhone 6, in height, is about an inch taller than the iPhone 5/s/c but, the iPhone 6 Plus is doubled. IPhone 6 Plus also features a M8 and A8 chip, which in non-tech terms, means the phone will move faster, have performance and have a longer battery life.
There are plenty of other changes to the phone as well, such as an improved isight camera, wifi calling, and Apple pay.
Customers will be able to preorder the new devices on Sept. 12 and on Sept. 19, customers will be able to buy the devices off the shelves through their phone company. To find out more about the devices, visit apple.com.
