On Nov. 16, from 5 p.m to 7 p.m, the Southeastern Louisiana University Language department will held their annual International Night fundraising event in the large ballroom on the third floor of the Student Union building.
The fundraiser included a variety show, hosted by SELU students and including performances by various foreign language clubs, such as the French Club and German Club. Those in attendance had the opportunity to eat various foreign and exotic foods that were available.
All SELU students got in free of charge, and were encouraged by Professor Aileen Mootoo to bring guests of all ages to watch the show and try the food.
Money raised via donation will go towards the language department and more specifically towards the upcoming French Immersion Program. The program will consist of a trip to Montpellier and Paris in July of 2016 for students interested in studying abroad in France.
An interest meeting for the Immersion Program was held on October 22 in DVIC 321.
