NOCA Feature Story of the Day: NOCA Heads to Nashville

The time of the semester is here where NOCA will travel to Nashville, Tennessee during spring break to attend the Southern States Communication Association convention. This convention is designed to fulfill the association’s purpose to promote the study, criticism, research, teaching, and application of the artistic, humanistic, and scientific principles of communication. This convention is a great way for our members to see and understand what it truly means to be a communication scholar.

NOCA members will receive a vast amount of knowledge specific to their choosing within the communication field. Every member is given the opportunity to attend events that they are passionate about. They also are given the chance to network with communication scholars across the southern states. These communication scholars are typically university professors, and they are always willing to give you advice about communication undergraduate and graduate degrees if you seek it.

There will be a multitude of panels throughout the four days of the convention. The panel topics will range from politics to professionalism advice. Dinner with the convention participates will also take place on Friday night to wrap up convention. The four days will be packed with things to do.

With convention nestled in the middle of music city, it makes for a fun and exciting trip for our members. The memories made during this trip can last a lifetime, and our members are excited about attending this fun and knowledge filled weekend. We are excited to see what doors open for our members as well as organization. If you or someone you know is interested in attending the SSCA convention, feel free to join us for our next meeting on Monday at 6:30 to learn more information.
