New “Point of View” radio talk-show host Miranda Fleig intends to deepen the show’s conversation by incorporating more discussion about common issues affecting Hammond locals.
“Point of View” is the longest running talk show on KSLU. ” The show focuses on people, events and issues in the Hammond area. After taking over in January, Fleig now hopes to supply listeners with more in-depth information and solutions to problems.
“I would love to have some one from North Oaks [hospital] come on and talk about Medicaid and the potential problems we might have with healthcare in the next couples of years,” said Fleig.
In addition to having local Hammond entrepreneurs, artists and businesses on the show, Fleig also plans to incorporate more STEM-based content. She intends to reach out to scientific businesses, such as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory in Livingston Parish. Fleig will also focus more on women working in the science industry.
Fleig said, “I want to talk about issues that have maybe been talked about before, but now, I want to look deeper.”
“Point of View” airs on Fridays at 11:00 a.m. on 90.9-FM. Hammond locals interested in being interviewed on the show should contact: KSLU radio at 985-549-5758.
