Southeastern’s Judo Association is not very well known, but they are working to get their name out there. A lot of people are unaware of this club, and they are hoping to increase their membership this semester.
This club has not been around for a very long time, and with that comes come the hardship of trying to get noticed and getting people to join. According to online research, there are a lot of martial arts clubs that are at Southeastern that people know of, but they are uninterested in the idea of taking martial arts classes at school. The students would rather take classes outside of the university because they feel like they would learn more. In all actuality the teachers that teach martial arts here are very well trained and know exactly what they are doing.
You can find the Southeastern Judo Association on the Southeastern organizations page, and a brief description of what they are all about. The club is run by president Sean Craft and the advisor is Gerard Blanchard. These two together have made great strides in organizing this club and are looking to get more people.
In order to join you do not need much. All they ask of you is that you have a serious interest in judo and that you have your own “gi”, which is the garment that you wear while training. Sean and Gerard take this very seriously and are willing to take in anyone that is ready to learn and have fun.
They want this to be a fun experience and an opportunity for someone to learn something new and exciting. Knowing judo is a great way to better yourself and add another special skill to your resume. If anyone is interested in this club there are many ways to get in contact with the members. Sean’s email is firstname.lastname@example.org and Gerard’s is email@example.com. They have meeting every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45 to 8:45pm in kinesiology 150. There are no dues or payments to join, just your presence and being ready to learn.
