The Hammond Rotary Club hosted its bi-annual social mixer at Gnarley Barley Brewery on Wednesday Nov. 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The free event, was open to residents over the age of 21 who are interested in learning more about the Rotary Club. The Rotary Club aimed to attract new members while allowing current members the opportunity to meet and network. The mixer featured a brief presentation by club president Daryl Ferarra on their “Service Above Self” theme as well as a tour of the brewery. Member Mark Dispenza, Executive Director of Worley Rewards, spoke highly of the event saying that, “You will miss a fun event and a tour of the beer plant. I look forward to seeing everyone there,” said Dispenza.
The Rotary Club is an international service organization that provides humanitarian services, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and advances goodwill and peace. This year alone, they adopted Hammond Junior High School and participated in a series of activities such as the beautification of the Lincoln Park playground, a blood drive, and the North Oaks Community Project.
