On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Joseph Burns, Ph.D., attended Southeastern’s PRSSA meeting to promote the Master’s degree in Organizational Communication. This program has received a 100 percent employment rate and is the only Organizational Communication degree offered in Louisiana. Requirements to enter the program include at least a 2.5 undergraduate GPA and a GRE score of at least 148 in the verbal section and 3.5 in the writing section.
Burns said, “Our application is very fair because we stick to the numbers. This program is special because the class size is small and students are already familiar with the professors.”
Students are required 12 credit hour classes to complete the program, nine of which are their choosing. Students are required to take communication courses such as Law, Ethics, and Theory to complete the program.
PRSSA president Meredith Keating plans to pursue her education after receiving her bachelor’s degree at Southeastern. Keating said, “Dr. Burns definitely gave a good pitch for Southeastern’s master’s program. Deciding where to go for my degree will be much harder than I expected.”
