Southeastern’s Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta/ English Honor Society have been around for more than 20 years. Currently the chapter holds 11 active members, including a few alumni.
“The participation of all members is highly encouraged as individuals work the sale for one to two hours around their class schedule,” said Sherri Craig, Faculty Advisor of the English Department.
The organization managed to collect assortments of books and pins to cover the interest of people of all ages. The soft cover books are on sale for $.50 cents, the hard covers and the
collectible pins are $1.
Every year the club puts on a book sale to raise money to sponsor many events that are given by the organization. This year’s fundraiser is sponsoring the travel expenses of the club members to attend a conference in Louisville,
Kentucky in late February. During the conference, the English Honor Society will have a chance to compete at round tables against other colleges.
“Although, it has been a few years since the chapter attended a conference, I look forward to this year as I will be competing,” Steve Savoi, Alumnus.
