Intramural Basketball

[HAMMOND] Theta Chi lost 53 to 37 March 14, in their intramural basketball game vs. Delta Tau Delta. Members of multiple fraternities and sororities came to support their favorite teams. Among some of the groups present were members of Sigma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Tau, Theta Phi Alpha, Theta Chi and Delta Tau Delta. Many non-greek spectators attended as well.

The game was pretty one sided. Most of the game the Delts had the upper hand. Better plays, better defense as well as offense. It was only until closer to the end that Theta Chi began scoring. Shelby Eisworth, a member of Theta Chi, said, “We played hard, but most of us aren’t basketball players, we’re just here to have fun and the other team was really good. Maybe we could have done better if we had a better strategy instead of just passing the ball to our best shooter all the time because they seemed to pick up on that really quickly.”

A few spectators were a bit disappointed the game wasn’t as intense as they had hoped. “That game was trash. I’m glad I didn’t spend money to see that game, it sucked. There was no defense against the Delts, and Theta Chi kept running basically the same play” said Termal Allen, a non-greek spectator.
